End's very first league game was against Burnley at home. North End
won 5-2.
- North
End won the FA Cup in 1888-89 without conceding any goals. North End
scored 11 goals altogether and defeated Wolves in the final 3-0.

End recorded their highest-ever league score in 1889-90 by thrashing
Stoke City 10-0.
- With
North End being the first winners of the Football League, North End
also became the first team to retain the championship by winning it
again in 1889-90
- North
End scored their very first penatly in 1891. The penalty was scored
by Jack Gordon against Blakburn Rovers on 24 October 1891.
- In
the FA Cup games against Middlesbrough Ironopolis, George Drummond played
in goal and completed a unique feat - in four years he had played in
all positions for North End.

the 1893-94 season being a very disappointing, North End still managed
to record the second highest ever FA Cup score by beating Reading 18-0

North End won the Lancashire Cup in March 1895 beating Everton 2-0 in
the final at Ewood Park. North End had defeated Bury (3-1), Man City
(7-0) and Accrington (2-0) in previous rounds.
- North
End played a total of 63 games in 1895-96. In addition to the 30 league
games and FA Cup game, North End played 32 friendlies during the course
of the season.
- On
11 September 1895, North End became the first visitors to Bolton's new
Burnden Park stadium in a friendly match. North End won 1-0 courtesy
of a goal from James Sharp.
