In March 1933 a fire in the Town End completely gutted the stand. A cigarette had rolled underneath the stand and set alight litter that had built up.
The Boxing Day match in 1933 against Brentford was North End's 1,500 league match. It finished 3-2 to the whites.
On 23rd December 1933, PNE beat Southampton 3-1 at Deepdale - North End's 600th league win.
It was common in those days to play matches on both Christmas Day and Boxing Day. North End had no luck in 1935 though - beaten 5-2 at Brentford and then 4-2 at Deepdale the next day!
